Interested in learning more about contemporary South Asian art? Fascinated by the jewels once worn by Indian royalty? If so, be sure to attend the newest installment of SAWLF’s women in art series tomorrow, November 3rd, An Evening with Minal Vazirani. The night will feature an exhibit of jewelry by Hanut Singh of the Kapurthala Royal Family as well as pieces of contemporary Indian art.
Based in New Delhi, Hanut Singh is a contemporary jewelry designer who draws his inspiration from India’s rich background. Grandson of a Maharaja, Hanut’s beautiful and wearable jewelry has a fresh look with just the right royal flair. His pieces are worn by many celebrities including Mary Kate Olsen, Penelope Cruz and Rebecca Romijn.
Minal Vazirani is president and co-founder of Saffronart, an online auction house that deals in modern and contemporary South Asian art and jewelry. Minal has been an active collector and promoter of art for the last thirteen years and is a regular panelist and guest speaker at South Asian art events as an industry expert.
