With hundreds of NYC restaurants participating in this year’s Restaurant Week, it can be tough to decide which restaurant to choose from. Luckily, Restaurant Week has been extended to three weeks, rather than the usual two, giving New Yorkers an additional week to sample three-course prix-fixe lunches for $24.07 and dinners for $35.00. Even with this extra week, choosing where to make a reservation can be difficult. Of the numerous cuisines offered, CitySaheli has narrowed down its favorite spots with a spicy South Asian twist. If you’re in the mood for spicy, check out these recommended spots this Restaurant Week.
Amma: This intimate spot was one of the first Indian restaurants to offer a tasting menu with wine pairings. Amma is always a great choice for traditional true Indian food.
Elettaria: This Greenwich Village lounge like restaurant offers a New American menu with South Asian references. Great music, delicious drinks and creative dishes!
Tamarind: This upscale hotspot in the Flatiron has been known for celebrity spottings. The service and décor are impeccable and the entire menu will not disappoint.
Mint Restaurant: Its green décor and modern furniture makes this a stylish pick. Mint has a fantastic atmosphere that doesn’t overshadow the food.
Tabla and Bread Bar: The food here is best described as Indian-American fusion. The menu, created by notable Chef Floyd Cardoz, is delicious, vegetarian friendly and a great option for anyone who is looking for something a little different.
