2009 is wrapping up and the big question remains…what are you doing for New Year’s? If you are in the NY area, and aren’t sure what to do, CitySaheli found some great ideas to ring in 2010.
From all of us at CitySaheli, Happy Holidays! Take this time to spend with family and friends. We will be returning with our daily newsletter in 2010.
For the Bollywood Saheli
If a Desi Party and Bollywood music is what you desire, NYC hosts plenty of events with predominantly Indian music. Some parties that sound great are Kemia and PT212. Fontana’s is one of the only places to have a Desi band. Tickets start at $60. Click here for more information on Desi parties in NYC. For the Party Saheli
We’ve seen DJ Sharad at weddings and other huge events, and on New Year’s Eve he is spinning at La Pomme (the old Ultra). Space is limited so be sure to bring an extra pair of dancing shoes. Tickets start at $95. Click here for more information on this event.
For the Outdoorsy Saheli
Just an hour and a half north of Manhattan, Mohonk Mountain House over looks the beautiful Hudson Valley. Here you can cuddle up by the fireplace, take a hike along Mohonk Lake and sip a glass of champagne or hot chocolate as you ring in 2010. The spa is one of the best in the country, so get ready to be pampered in one of the most beautiful settings in the North East.
For the DIY Saheli
Forget the club madness and throw your own New Year’s Eve soiree. Invite as few or as many people as you would like. Give this New Year’s party a twist with a special theme to spice things up. And remember, if you get tired of doing it yourself, many bars open up after midnight, so you can always move the party elsewhere.
For the Risky Saheli
Viva Atlantic City! Atlantic City has been increasingly popular after the opening of the Water Club and the revamping of Caesar’s Palace Mall. You can try your luck at the tables and/or dance the night away at one of the many clubs. Traveling to AC couldn’t be easier on ACES train out of Penn Station, stocked with a full bar and young-hip crowd.
For the Chill Saheli
Spending time near the ocean can be fun, romantic and memorable during the winter time. Travel as a couple or with a group of friends to the Hamptons, New Jersey Shore, Long Island Beach or another local beach getaway. Be sure your winter pad has heating, as many beach houses don’t. Bring your most recent Netflix and spend the weekend relaxing with loved ones, sipping cocktails and enjoying the fresh ocean breeze.
